Read The following: How I Plan To Read 50 Books A Year

Reading 50 books in a year can be quite demanding yet, of course, possible with the right approach and psyche. First of all, one should clearly set one’s goals, make efforts in perseverance towards its fulfillment, and manage to make such reading a part of life.

Want to read more? And is your reading list just growing and growing? Well, it may be time to cross more books off of that list this year than ever.

If you’re reading less than you want, you’re not alone. One year ago, I looked at my Goodreads page and was taken aback to see that I had read only five books in 2016. That realization frustrated me.

Although I enjoy reading, I have been reading a few books year since I entered college in 2016. I didn’t read as much as I would have liked because of my college studies and life.

You have to educate yourself if you want to succeed in this world, and you have to read a lot to do so. Here’s how to do it.

I am thus based on the key five talking points that follow:

1. Setting a Realistic Goal

I’d like to read 50 books this year-too, a book a week. A further breakdown could perhaps be that in a year it comes out to be approximately 12 or 13 books a quarter, which sounds ambitious yet does not daunt me. In this case, the big goal starts sounding achievable, and it is this fact that keeps me going.

Setting a goal is the first step, but determining if the goal is achievable is what separates the dreamers from the action. It entails connecting your objectives with the steps that will progressively turn them into reality while being aware of your current abilities, resources, and timeline. – CHANGALA SAI KIRAN

2. Building the Reading Habit

I will institute a habit of reading daily at least 30 minutes each and every day, either in the morning, at lunchtime, or before bed. Hook the reading into something you already do over your coffee or as part of your night wind down-and it is really quite organic.

3. Multiple Formats

I’ll make use of multiple formats, mixing and matching those most likely to help me maximize my time reading:

  • Physical Books: These are best for focused, distraction-free reading sessions.
  • E-books: are easy to read while on the go, whether it be commuting or waiting in a line.
  • Audiobooks: are great for multitasking during activities such as commuting, exercising, or doing chores. Because of this flexibility, it allowed me to read even on days when things were super busy.

4. Choosing Varied and Appealing Books

Variety makes reading exciting, so I will read across genres and topics, including fiction, non-fiction, memoirs, self-help, and many more. I am going to make sure to select books that are of great interest to me in order for me to be able to keep reading curiously. To maintain the flow, I will also alternate longer and shorter reads.

5. Control The growth and Using Resilience

I’ll be accountable for monitoring the books using a journal or apps; this helps me stay organized and allows me to observe my progress in my reads.

I will not stress, force, and move forward with those books that did not stick well with me; rather, I’ll shift to the next one. Always, Reading is not a duty; rather, it is something to be enjoyed.

Breaking down the goal into small pieces, easily manageable; consistency, and reading for fun-maybe these are what will help me this year to achieve my goal of 50. Of course, it is not about the number, but all about learning and growth, being submerged in stories and ideas.

If that sounds familiar and somewhat like something you had in mind, let me remind you: be flexible, make time for what you love, and don’t forget to celebrate along the way. Let this be a year of great reads!

Thank you for Reading.
